شخص رأى رؤيا بأنه تاجر، وهذا التاجر لم يكن مستقيمًا في حياته، ولم يكن حريصًا على التزود بالعمل الصالح والأخلاق الكريمة، وكذلك لم يحسن تربية أبنائه، وقد تُوُفِّي هذا التاجر، وكان يعاني في قبره مِن أهوال القبور، وبالمقبرة اجتمعتْ أمام قبره بعض الأرواح لمعرفة سر عذابه الدائم بالقبر، وكيف السبيل لمساعدته مِن أهوال القبر ومعاناته، وقد تعاهدتِ الأرواح على مساعدته عن طريق الوصول إلى أبنائه، والاستعانة بأشخاص مِن العالم الآخر. وتمضي الأحداث إلى آخرها حتى استيقظ هذا الشخص مِن منامه وهو مصدوم مِن هول الحلم، وأخذ يتساءل: مَن هو التاجر؟ ولماذا أتى هذا الحلم الطويل له؟ ومِن خلال تأمله في أحداث هذا الحلم تبيَّن له بأن في حياته أمورًا يجب عليه أن يسارع إلى تغييرها، ومِن خلال الحلم عرف معالم طريق النجاة.
