وجاء هذا الكتاب لبيان هذه المرجعية، وأنّ كلّ تجلّ يستمدّ من آية من سورة البقرة، وبمعرفة هذا المفتاح القرآني تنحل الألغاز التي ذكرها الشيخ في مقدّمة الكتاب، وتنجلي المعاني الحقيقية التي يشير إليها عبر كل فقرات الكتاب، وسبب تسلسلها، وإضافة إلى هذا العمل، توجد في هذا الكتاب شروح لنصوص أخرى للشيخ مرجعها أيضاً إلى آيات من سورة البقرة لم يصرح الشيخ بمفتاحها القرآني، وبذلك تنفتح للمتأمل مغاليقها.
