بين يديك أيها القارئ الكريم شطر من كتاب "الرحالة اليهود"، ويتمثل في رحلة ديفيد رآوبيني، وربما كان نص رحلة ديفيد رآوبيني – خاصة – نصاً متحولاً جملة وتفصيلاً، وأثراً مزوراً يفتقر إلى الأصالة، ولم يحظ يوماً بثقة العلماء، ومن جملتهم العلماء اليهود أنفسهم، ترى ذلك واضحاً في لعب مؤلف تلك الرحلة المزعومة على وتر أسطورة الأسباط العشرة المفقودة.
ولكن هذا لا ينفي عن تلك الرحلة أهميتها، ذلك أنها من أقدم ما كتب – إن لم تكن أقدم – عن فكرة عودة اليهود إلى فلسطين، بمساعدة القوى الأوروبية، التي فكر اليهود بالتحالف معها لمواجهة الخطر الذي شكلته الدولة العثمانية على شرق أوروبا وسواحل الدول الأوروبية شمالي البحر المتوسط، بل وربما كانت النص المؤسس لفكرة الوطن القومي لليهود وحق العودة وإنهاء مرحلة الشتات، واعتبار اليهود – أينما كانوا، وأينما ارتحلوا وأينما حلوا – قومية متجانسة عابرة للأوطان، واعتبار فلسطين ملاذا أخيراً ووطنا قومياً لهم، إذ قدر لهذه الرحلة المصطنعة التأثير في المخيال اليهودي على النحو الذي وضح جلياً في دراسة لهذه الرحلة.
جدير بالذكر، أنه كان لرحلة رآوبيني أصل وحيد كتب بخط سليمان كوهين دي براتو Solomon Cohen of Prato، كاتم سر رآوبيني (سكرتيره الخاص).
وتلمح تلك المخطوطة أن كوهين نقل ما دونه من رحلة رآوبيني عن نسخة أصلية Autograph بخط رآوبيني نفسه.
يشهد بذلك – كما توحي ظواهر الأمور – تواتر إستخدام رآوبيني ضمير المتكلم في السَّرد، وقد فقد الأصل بطبيعة الحال، بينما آلت تلك النسخة التي بخط سليمان كوهين إلى مكتبة بودليان عام 1848، ثم صورت منها نسخة بالفاكسميلي، كما انتسخت منها نسخة واضحة لصالح كلية اللاهوت اليهودي ببرسلاو – إلا أن النسخة الأصلية – أعني تلك التي بخط سليمان كوهين – اختفت في ظروف غامضة عام 1867 أي بعد 20 عاماً فحسب من العثور عليها!...
