أما الفصل الأول فقد ركز على نشأة الانكشارية لمعالجة الأوضاع العسكرية في أوائل العهد العثماني وتأسيس الانكشارية ومناقشة آراء المستشرقين الذين هاجموا الانكشارية والرد عليهم بالأدلة والبراهين، في الفصل الثاني موضوع "تسلط الانكشارية وجبروتهم" ناقش أسباب تمرد الانكشارية وزيادة ثوراتها مع مرور الزمن وموضوع نفوذ الانكشارية داخل القصر السلطاني، أما الفصل الثالث ركز على موضوع "تفاقم خطر الانكشارية" وما يتعلق بموقف الانكشارية من النظم العسكرية الحديثة وإلغاء فيالق الانكشارية كما ناقش وجهات النظر حول إلغاء الانكشارية ومدى مصداقية ذلك.
