"تاريخ الفاخري" مخطوط تاريخي مهم عن عصر المماليك ألفه الأمير بدر الدين بكتاش الفاخري المتوفي سنة 1344م، وهو أمير سلاح لدى الملك الناصر ونقيب الجيوش في مصر. وهو من محتويات مكتبة برلين ويتحدث عن تاريخ سلاطين مصر والشام وحلب وبيت المقدس وأمرائها، حسب تتابعهم في الحكم، ويوضح حوادث العصر المملوكي بشيء من التفصيل والشرح المطوّل بسبب معاصرة المؤلف لهذه الفترة من التاريخ الإسلامي، فضلاً عن المعلومات التي تصل إلى بلاط القصر السلطاني بحكم منصبه الذي يجعله على تماس مباشر مع السلطان نفسه، ومع كبار الأمراء وأعيان الدولة، وسهولة الإتصال بهم، والحصول على الوثائق والمحاضر والرسائل والمكاتبات التي ترد أو تصدر عن الدواوين الرسمية، ومن ذلك إعطاء الأمير سيف الدين بلبان القجقاري له نسخة المحضر الذي كتب عن السيل العظيم ببعلبك سنة 717ه. فنقل عنه. أما تركيز المؤلف فكان على بيان الثورات السياسية، وذكر الحوادث والوقائع بإسهاب وتفصيل منذ بداية تولي الناصر محمد الحكم في محرم 693ه / 1293م ، كما أنه اهتم بترجمة حياة كبار شخصيات الدولة، ونشاط الجيش المملوكي، والموضوعات المتعلقة بالنواحي الإدارية، والعلاقة بين السلطان حسام الدين لاجين المنصوري وكبار الأمراء المماليك في البلاط السلطاني. وعند معالجته للعهد الثاني لحكم الناصر محمد اهتم المؤلف بالتغييرات الإدارية، والمؤامرات السياسية، والصراع العسكري، خاصة تلك الحواديث التي تقع خارج عاصمة دولة المماليك، مثل ثورات البدو.
وعلى ذلك فالمخطوط له أهمية بالغة فيما يختص بدراسة عهد الناصر محمد، كذلك تأتي أهمية المخطوط بتناوله، سلطنة بيبرس الجاشنكير حتى يصل إلى العهد الثالث لحكم الناصر محمد كشاهد عيان للحوادث التي وقعت خلال هذا العهد فأجاد وصفها وذكر حقائقها، وذكر الصلات والعلاقات التي ربطت سلطنة المماليك بغيرها من دول الشرق والغرب، إلى جانب عنايته بالإشارة إلى الإصلاحات الداخلية في مصر. وللمخطوط أهمية أيضاً في معرفة موقف الناصر محمد من الخلافة العباسية.
