من التواريخ النجدية الشاملة التي اعتمد عليه كثير من دارسي تاريخ نجد، وهو مشتمل على بعضِ أخبار البلاد النّجدية بدءاً من منتصف القرن التاسع الهجري، واختتاماً بأواخر القرن الثالث عشر. وقد مال مصنفه إلى الاختصار الشديد؛ بحيث قد يقتصر فيما يذكر من أحداث سنة من السنين على واحدٍ فحسب، يعبِّرُ عنه في كثيرٍ من الأحيان بما لا يزيدُ عن سطرٍ واحد، فإن زاد فببضعة أسطر فحسب. وقد أكمل ابن المؤلف عمل والده سائراً في سبيل منهجه نفسِه من الاقتضاب؛ بما يجعل هذا التاريخ خلاصة موجزةً جداً لأهم الأحداث التي حدثت في نجد إبّان تلك الفترة الزمنية التي غطّاها.
