شمل الديوان 40 قصيدة يستشعر فيها السكتاوي "دبيب الحياة الصامت وتحوّلات كائن إنسانيّ تحت الحَجْر كما عاشها منعزلاً في شرفة، تطلّ على قارّة بعيدة ضربها وباء أسود".كما سيجد القارئ في الديوان أبياتاً عن "أمل انتفاض الموج لتنبعث من رحمهِ ثورة الكون الكامنة، ليبدأ السفر خارج أسر القدر، وأخرى عن العالم الذي ضاق لمّا كبُر، والسّفن التي صدئت، والبحر الذي تكشّف مليئا بالغرقى بعدما انقشع الضباب، وبحثِه عن دمه في كلّ المرافئ، دون أن يجد غير زجاجة قذفها في لجّته ذات خريف، ليكسّرها، بعد رؤيته، على الصّخر، بعدما كانت في قلبِها مرثيّة لِزمن قديم، وكفنٌ من ورق أبيض يلفّ جثّة حلمه.
