والعمل في "المجتبى" لم يختلف عن سابقِيهِ من الكتب الستة من حيث جوهر العمل، ولكن اقتضت حكمة الله عزّ وجلّ أن يرتحل العمل في هذا السِّفْر بنحو رحلة الإمام النسائي، فقد جهدنا في إتمام هذا العمل رغم التحديات التي تعيشها أمتنا في هذه الأعصار، فبدأنا عملنا في أرض الشام، ثم أرض الكنانة، وانتهى بغزة هاشم، وهذا كله من كرم الله تعالى وحكمته البالغة التي كان ثمرتها الصغرى إصدار هذا الكتاب، وثمرتها الكبرى إتمام إصدار الكتب الستة، والجائزة الكبرى يوم نستكمل الموسوعة الحديثية.
