مختصر المختصر من المسند الصحيح لمؤلفه إمام الأئمة فقيه الآفاق أبي بكر محمد بن إسحاق بن خزيمة النيسابوري الحافظ وهو كما يقول المؤلف ينقل العدل عن العدل موصولاً إليه صلى الله عليه وسلم من غير قطع في أثناء الإسناد ولا جرح في ناقلي الأخبار التي نذكرها بمشيئة الله تعالى، وهو في ثلاثة مجلدات.
وقد عمد المحقق إلى مقابلة المطبوع على المخطوط مستدركاً بعض الأخطاء التي وردت في المطبوع. وقد وضع الأحكام الشيخ الألباني واهتم ببيان آخر أحكامه مع إظهار التناقضات كما وضع المحقق أرقام البخاري ومسلم وابن حبان واهتم بذكر تعليقات الحافظ ابن حجر وتصحيحاته للسند والمقتن من "الاتحاف".
كما وضع الأحاديث التي عزاها الحافظ لابن خزيمة وليست في الصحيح، بعضها في مواطنه من الكتاب إذا كانت في الصلاة أو الصوم ونحوهما من الكتب، وزاد المحقق أيضاً فهرساً للرجال الذين تكلم فيهم ابن خزيمة.
