لا تهدف هذه الدراسة الى إدانة التاريخ الفلسطيني المعاصر وإنما الى مراجعة التجربة السياسية الفلسطينية من زاوية مشكلاتها البنيوية وتسليط الأضواء على هذه المشكلات التي لعبت دوراً رئيسياً في توجيه السياسة الفلسطينية. وذلك من خلال مراجعة أداء النخب السياسية الفلسطينية ممثلة بقياداتها التاريخية وما وصلت إليه هذه السياسة من تردّي.
كما تهدف الى معالجة المشكلات البنيوية وأثرها في الأداء السياسي الفلسطيني، وتفسير التحولات التي جرت على الهدف السياسي الفلسطيني، وعلى الخطاب السياسي الفلسطيني، وتتوخى تقديم نظرة جديدة للعلاقة ما بين قطاعات الشعب الفلسطيني والقيادة الفلسطينية ومدى تأثير هذه القطاعات على القرار السياسي.
