إن النظام السياسي الاردني قد تم تحديده ورسمه من خلال وضع الدستور الأردني لنصوص دستورية واضحة لا لبس فيها ولا غموض، حيث حددت مختلف المسائل التي تخص المواطن الاردني، وحددت الحقوق والواجبات والحريات العامة والسلطات الدستورية في الدولة واختصاصات وواجبات كل سلطة من هذه السلطات، حيث مر النظام السياسي بمراحل متعددة صعبة ومنذ عام 1916 بداية تكون إمارة شرقي الأردن وإجماع العشائر الأردنية على اختبار الملك عبدالله الأول بن الحسين بن علي حاكما عليهم وزعيما على شرق الأردن.
ارتبط تطور النظام السياسي في الأردن بالتطور الدستوري، حيث تم تعديل نصوص دستور عام 1952 عام 2011 تقريبا (42 ) مادة منه لما يحقق مصلحة الشعب في تنمية الحياة السياسية وتطوير الأحزاب السياسية والمحكمة الدستورية وإقرار الحريات العامة وحماية وسائل الإعلام والصحافة والطباعة والتعليم والعمل وإدخال التعديلات الجوهرية على الدستور التي تضمن الحقوق المدنية والسياسية للمواطن الأردني بما ينسجم والمواثيق الدولية.
إن الأردن دولة مستقلة ذات سيادة لا يجوز التنازل عن أي جزء من أراضيها أو مقدساتها أو مؤسساتها الاقتصادية أو الاستثمارية أو بيعها أو التصرف بها لأنها ملك الشعب الأردني.
