الخاتمان صارا في علبة واحدة، خاتم زواجه وهذا الخاتم المجهول الّذي فتح له النوافذ المطلّة على الذكريات، ما الّذي أيقظ هناء في ذاكرته؟ فهو طالما اعتبر أنّ حبّه لهناء أيّام طفولته الّتي عاشها في بيوت الإسكان بدفنة المحرّق لعبة أطفال.
وحين كان يتذكّرها في السنوات، الّتي تلت خروجها الأخير من حيّهم، كان يظنّ أنّ حنينه لم يكن إلى هناء ولكن وإلى طفولته الّتي غادرها مسرعاً إلى سنّ الرجولة، وسرعان ما اقتنع بذلك وعاش بهذه القناعة سنين طويلة.
إنّه لم يؤلّف قطّ بيتاً شعرياً في هناء، ولم تكن هناء ملهمته في قصصه ورواياته، وقد تمرّ الأشهر والسنين دون أن يتذكّر أيّ موقف بجمعهما، وحين يذكرها مع أصدقاء طفولته كانوا يستطردون في الحديث عن مغامراتها الطفوليّة وعن نوادرها المضحكة؛ ولم يأت قطّ حتّى مع نفسه على ذكر شعلة الحبّ الّتي أوقدتها في قلبه هذه الطفلة الصغيرة ذات الشعر المتماوج، هل كان يكذب على نفسه حين كان يقول بأنّه نسيها، وبأنّ قصّة حبّهما كانت مجرّد لعبة؟.
