وإن أسمى ألوان الخدمة هذه هي ذات الطابع العلمي والجهد الفكري في أي ميدان وعلى أي صعيد، لإن الأمـَم أنما تنهضُ وترتقي في معارج التقدم والنهوض بما يحققه أبناؤها من تقدم علمي ومجهود فكري ورقي ثقافي يجعلها في مصاف الأمم المتقدمة.
وأمتنا العربية مرّت بمحطاتٍ نهضويةٍ مضيئة اعتمدت الفكرَ أساساً والثقافة شرعة ً والعلم َمنهاجاً. فقد حققت بهذا النهج الكثيرَ من الإنجازات حتى أصبحت بنظـــر الأمم الرائدة فـــي علومها ومعارفها في شتــى الميادين والمثلَ الراقي في نهضتها وحضارتها مما جعــل منهـــا أساساً يـُحتذى به في العلــم والمعرفة، وما صنوفُ النهضةِ التي ظهرت لدى الأمم الأجنبية إلا صدىً لتاريخ أمتنا العلمي.
على أنه من غير الجائز لنا أن نظلَّ واقفين نتغنى بأمجاد أمتنا الغابرة ونتفاخرَ بتاريخها الوضاء، وإنما لا بد من أن نتخذ َ من ماضينا وتاريخنا وتراثنا سراجاً ينير لنا حاضرَنا ومستقبلنـَا، ولا يجوز أن نظلَّ نجتــر الماضـــي ونقــف عنده، فلا بد أيضاً من إضافاتٍ نقدمها فوق ما بناه الأولون من الرواد، سيما وأن العديدَ من المتغيرات قد إتسم به زمانُنا، والكثيرَ من المستجدات فرضت نفسها في مسار حياتنا، ولا مناص من التعامل معها واستيعابها والبناء عليها حتى نستحق معها الحياة َ التي نريد والتقدمَ الـذي نسعى إليه.
