جمع جوامع في الأصل كتاب مختصر صغير الحجم وضعه مصنفه تاج الدين السبكي في الأصليين، أصول الفقه، وأصول الدين، وهو كتاب فريد في بابه، بديع في فنه، وقد اعتنى العلماء بشرحه لما عمت شهرته وذاع صيته. وقد ضم المؤلف إليه الكثير من كتب المتكلمين والمحدثين والفقهاء.
أما منع الموانع، فهو كتاب شرح به المؤلف ما استغلق واستبهم من مشكلات جمع الجوامع-وضعه بشكل إجابات على الأسئلة التي وردت عليه بخصوص جمع الجوامع، وقد نقل المؤلف عن مصادر لكثير منها المستصفى والوجيز والتهافت، والفتاوى للغزالي، والبرهان، والنهاية والمدارك لإمام الحرمين وأمهات كتب الحديث كصحيح البخاري وغيرها من الكتب أما أهمية الكتاب فإنها راجعة إلى أن المصنف تدارك به كثيراً من مسائل الأصول التي أغفلها في جمع الجوامع وبه شرح كتاب جمع الجوامع ذي القيمة الرفيعة عند العلماء فصارت عبارته في متناول الجميع وحلت عقده ومشكلاته.
وقد اجتمعت لدى المؤلف ثلاث نسخ من هذا الكتاب فعمد إلى اتباع طريقة النص المختار في التحقيق، فكتب النص على مقتضى القواعد الإملائية الحديثة وصحح العبارة التي تخالف قواعد النحو، وميز الزيادة التي ليست في الأصل بوضعها بين قوسين معقوفين وقام بتخريج الأحاديث والآثار والأبيات الشعرية الواردة في الكتاب-كما عرف بالإعلام الواردة في صلب الكتاب وعزى الآراء إلى أصحابها ونسبها إلى قائليها وربط مسائل الكتاب الأصولية بكتب الأصول المعتبرة. وشرح المفردات الغريبة ووضع فهارس عامة للكتاب تبرز محتوياته وفوائده.
