مع ذلك فإنَّ ما حَدَثَ البارحةَ كان أمراً صغيراً بإمتيازٍ، أمراً عَرَضِيّاً يَحْدُثُ دائماً، حتَّى إنَّهُ لا يجبُ أنْ يُحْدِثَ أيَّ تأثيرٍ، لكنَّه، وللغرابةِ وحدَها، أحْدَثَ تأثيراً، تأثيراً غريباً جدّاً، فهو لم يَكْتَفِ فقط بإستبدال الهدوء بالصَّخبِ، بل أيضاً أضفّى على الجَوِّ كثافةً ما تُشْبهُ الرُّطوبةَ في ثِقَلِها، لكنَّها ليست الرُّطوبةَ، فهي أشْبَهُ بالإمتلاء الذي تُحسُّ به في فمها عندما تبتلعُ قطع حلوى "الماشملو" الإسفنجية الكثيفة الناعمة التي تبعث فيها الإحساس بأن كل المجسات الدقيقة على لسانها وكل خلايا فمها راضيةٌ تماماً، راضيةٌ ومُمتلئة.
