في جديده الشعري "بعضُ الماء يحفظ آخر أغنية" يسعى الشاعر محمود حمد إلى تشعير بنية الزمكان في استثماره لعناصر لغة حوارية شفافية تقترب من التغزل والرومانسي "يا قدراً/علمني كيف أحبُّ/علمني كيف/أحاصرُ كُلَّ جهاتي/أقترب لأنطق/حرفاً خارج ذاتي/علمني/كيف أبعثر/رمل صفات/الآخر/كيف أتناسى/بعض/صفاتي (...)".
بهذا الخطاب يتجانس الزمكان ليُعبر عن مخيلة ممتلئة بالإشارات، ووعي شعري يتنقل بين الزائل والخالد، بين الشوق الحارق وميوعه العاطفة لتأسيس مشهدية صورية تنعكس فيها ارتباضات الأنا آزلياً وكونياً بالمحبوبة وتتماهى في شعرية تنتج ثيماتها الأنا الشاعرة في لهبة وحبور ولوعة الانتماء للأرض والتجذر بما يشي بقدسية المكان "هذه المدن/وتلك مدنية أخرى،وليس مثلها/لكنها انجرفت على أبوابها/وتجمع الآتون/يستسقون قبل نهاية/الصيف المخادع/ربما عاد الغريب/ولم يجمع غير/إخوته/على دمع التباكي (...)".
عبر تلك الملفوظات والاشتغالات نجح الشاعر في اصطياد الرؤى الجوهرية للحياة وأسس لخطاب فني يضخ معانيه في النص بأكثر من اتجاه ومستوى من الحضور والغياب في علاقة ثنائية قوامها الزمن. وبعد، "بعض الماء يحفظ آخر أغنية" هي قصدية طويلة توزعت على (41) مقطعاً شعرياً ما يشي بذائقة فنية جديدة في حقل الشعر.
