"إن أنتَ صاحبت الغياب" قصائد متفردة الفكرة والأسلوب، لشاعرٍ متقد بالمشاعر، مسكون بالدفء مؤثث بالشعر مثل "محمود حمد" نصوصه تحمل بعض مجريات حياته وترسم أمنياته بحروف راعشة وكلمات حالمة ترقد بين ثناياها ذكريات طفولة، يضل الشعر منها باذخاً على رسله. ذلك الذي يسكن قلب الشاعر ولا يغادره قط مما جعل النصوص تلبس لبوس السيرة الذاتية، فالقصيدة عنده متعانقة مع الذات ومع الذكريات أما ثيمتها المهدوفة فهي مرتبطة بالطبيعة وبالحب. تحت عنوان: "كنت هناك منذ طفولتي" يقول الشاعر محمود حمد: "قبل ولادة العصفور / في عش الرياح / كنت وُلدت .. / لا أرض تراودُ / حلمها الأبدي / أو جبل / يسمّي نفسه حجراً / ولا أنثى / تُسمّي نفسها أنثى .. / قبل ولادة العطش / إختياراً / كان الماء / سيّد كل أنواع / السواقي / حين تموت ساقية / يفني في الظهيرة / يشربُ كلّ أتربة / القبور / ولا يبالي بالهياكل / حين يمرّ .. / كان يدوسُ أزمنة قديمة / (...) كنت هناك منذ طفولتي / وأن أجمع ما تبقى / من حديث غبارهم ..." بهذه اللغة يرود بشاعرنا الماضي بشقيه الممتلئين بالفرح والحزن، يبثه على هامشٍ من سطور المعاني الحاملة لأصداء النفس وفيض القلب ويترك الشعر منداحاً كما انطلق من صدره هادئاً رزيناً يحمل الكثير من كينونته كشاعر وإنسان. يقسم الديوان إلى ثلاث مجموعات جاءت الأولى بلا عنوان وتضم عشرة قصائد، أما الثانية فجاءت بعنوان: جبلية، وتضم (18) قصيدة، أما الثالثة فهي بعنوان: آمنت بالأحلام حين تبعثري وتضم (13) قصيدة.
