يجمع هذا الكتاب، الصادر عن مؤسسة عبد الحميد شومان، عدداً من المحاضرات التي ألقتها نخبة من الأساتذة الباحثين في منتدى المؤسسة الثقافي، في مواضيع ذات صلة بإبراز التحديات الاستراتيجية التي تواجه الأمة العربية في العقود القادمة. وقد جاء ترتيب هذه المحاضرات ضمن نسق يبدأ بالمنظور الشامل لهذه التحديات وصولاً إلى بؤرة الصراع التي كانت، وما تزال، الأكثر توتراً بما تختزنه من أخطار كبيرة تهدد الأمن القومي العربي بمجمله، وهو الصراع العربي-الإسرائيلي.
ويتعمق بعض الأبحاث في أبعاد هذا الصراع عبر تسليط على جانب من أطرافه العربية ذات الاحتكاك المباشر بأخطاره في فلسطين ولبنان، مع التركيز أيضاً على قضية القدس، التي تحمل الكثير من نذر التفجر حاضراً مستقبلاً. يتضمن القسم الأول من هذا الكتاب عدد من الدراسات المتميزة حول قضايا وهموم الأمن القومي العربي وما يتصل به ويتفرع عنه. ويشتمل القسم الثاني من الكتاب أيضاً عدة محاضرات حول مدينة القدس. حملت الأولى منها، عنوان "القدس في التاريخ الإسلامي" أما الثانية لتؤرخ لمذكرات الدكتور حازم نسيبة في مدينة القدس التي ترعرع فيها وسار في شوارعها. أما الثالثة والأخيرة فقدمت شرحاً متعمقاً في تفاصيل الوسائل الكفاحية التي اجترحها أهل القدس للصمود في وجه الاحتلال الذي فاجأ مدينتهم في حزيران سنة 1967.
