راج على الساحة الفلسطينية في العقود الثلاثة الأخيرة وبخاصة بعد الخروج من بيروت مصطلح أزمة العمل الوطني. و الواقع أن أزمة عميقة تلف جميع الأطراف المنخرطة في الصراع الدائر في المنطقة, وعلى الجانبين, كون هذا الصراع المحتدم منذ قرن وأكثر من الزمن, لم يحسم بعد لصالح أي من المعسكرين المتناحرين. وعلى صعيد المواجهة مع الكيان الصهيوني, لابد من الإشارة إلى أنه في مسار ما يسمى التسوية السلمية قد تحول إلى ترسانة أسلحة متطورة, من خلال التعاون الإستيراتيجي مع الولايات المتحدجة. وهو في سياق ما يسمى هجوم السلام الفلسطيني, يعمل جاهدا على استكمال مشروعه في تهويد فلسطين عبر الهجرة المتدفقة إليه. وعلى قاعدة علاقاته المتميزة مع الولايات المتحدة فإنه يصلب مرتكزات عدوانه استعدادا لدور جديد.
