قال الإمام الشافعي –رحمه الله- عن اللغة الواحدة: "لا يحيط باللغة إلا نبي"، يعني إلا رجل يوحي إليه، حيث أن اللغة العربية انتشرت في الجزيرة العربية في فترة نزول الوحي، باستطاعتنا القول أنه يمكن الإحاطة باللغة من جميع جوانبها، وهل يمكن إثبات أن حرف الضاد انفردت به اللغة العربية أم لا؟ يتضمن هذا الكتاب دراسة مهمة في علم القراءات وقواعد التجويد ذلك أن "التجويد جزء من علم القراءات؛ وأن القراءات القرآنية المتواترة جميعاً، قرأ بها النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم.. وقد تلقاها عنه صلى الله عليه وسلم خيار أصحابه من بعده وأقرؤوا بها الناس، وبذلك فإن سائر القرارات المتواترة توفيقية، والتجويد جزء من علم القراءات فهو أيضاً توفيقي من حيث المشافهة والأداء، لا مجال فيه لأدنى اجتهاد. فالنبي صلى الله عليه وسلم هو الذي أقرأ أصحابه بتحقيق الهمات وبتسهيلها، وكذلك بالفتح والإمالة، وبالإدغام وبالإظهار، وبتطويل زمن الغنة في محلها وبتطوير الصوت بحروف المد وبقلقلة حروف (قطب جد) وغير ذلك من أبواب القراءة المأذون بها والمروية بالتواتر...".
"السيف المسلول في تصحيح ما التبس من لغة الضاد والطاء والراء، وزيادة في الفائدة ألحق بها رسالة أخرى، هي "هداية الراغبين في بيان أحكام آيات رب العالمين" للشيخ ابراهيم بن شريف السكندري، وهي من المخطوطات النادرة التي تناولت موضع الوقف على أواخر الكلم بطريقة سهلة وسلسلة، مما قد تساعد بعض طلبة العلم على استيعاب الأوقاف الواردة في الآيات القرانية عن أئمة القراءة.
