إن مما لا شكَّ فيه ولا ارتياب أنَّ علمَ المنطق من علوم الآلات الَّتي ينبغي على طالب العلم أن يمتلَّك ناصيتها، وكيف لا وهو مرتبط إرتباطاً وثيقاً بعِلمَي أصول الدين وأصول الفقه، ولا يتسنَّى لطالب العلم أن يكون مبرِّزاً فيهما إلاَّ إن تعلَّم المنطق وأتقنه.
كما أنَّ فهمَ كثير من كلام الأئمة في مختلف الفنون موقوف على معرفة الإصطلاحات المنطقيَّة، أضف إلى ذلك أنَّه المعيار والميزان الذي يتميَّز به صحيح الفكر من فاسده، وكلُّ ما لم يوزن بميزان لم يتميَّز فيه الرجحان عن النقصان، والربح عن الخسران.
ولذا حثَّنا أشياخنا على تعلُّم هذا العلم في زمن عَرف إحجام كثير من الأشياخ عن تعليمه وبذِله، وفرارَ معظم طلبة العلم من تعلُّمه وأخذه، فانتهضتُ مع رُفقة لي من خِيرة الطَّلبة لدراسة هذا العلم، فأمَّمنا شيخنا الأستاذ جنيداً ورجوناه أن يقرئنا كتاباً يذلِّل لنا صعابَ هذا الفنِّ، ويكون بوَّابة لغيره من الكتب، فأجاب لذلك - جزاه الله تعالى خيراً - واختار أن يقرئنا كتاب "مغني الطُّلاَّب شرح متن إيساغوجي" - وهو الكتاب الَّذي بين أيدينا - للطف حجمه ودقَّة عبارته وغزارة محتواه.
