لطالما اتهمت قواعد اللغة العربية بأنها مادة جافة صعبة الفهم والاستيعاب والحقيقة أن القواعد ليست مادة جافة وصعبة الفهم وإنما أسلوب عرضها يحمل في طياته أسباب ضد الجفاف، وبما أن الطالب بحاجة دائمة لمعرفة أسرار اللغة العربية فيما يتعلق بتصريف الأفعال، وبما أن التوصل إلى هذا الهدف صعب من خلال كتب اللغة المطولة رأى المؤلف أن بعد كتاباً مختصراً شاملاً يحتوي على مبادئ أولية في تصريف الأفعال في اللغة العربية، هذا بالإضافة إلى ملحق بالكتاب يضم 78 جدولاً لتصريف الأفعال عبر نماذج منها، وفهرس لأهم الأفعال العربية مرتبة ترتيباً ألفبائيا.
