ليس هذا العمل تأرخة بقدر ما هو ممارسة، انه قراءة للتيارات الفلسفية العربية المعاصرة، وهو معاناة، ومعايشة، وتفكير على تفكيرات أو فيها مع معرفة بها تتم من داخلها. لكأن هذا العمل تجربة على تجارب فلسفية، أو خطاب على خطابات، ولغة شارحة على لغة شيء، ونص على نصوص، وتعلم للتفكير الفلسفي على أعمال فلسفية وعبرها، بذلك يتفسر نقده لها الذي يحصل، كما سيلاحظ المتتبع لقراءة الكتاب، بحكم مرافقة النظرية، وتتبع مراحلها أو السير في أروقتها وتلافيفها والنقد المقصود هنا نقدانية، أي نقد منظر ممنهج، وتلك النقدانية محاكمة ثم استيعابية تثميرية، أي المادة تسمية وتعضية موظّفة لتطوير شخصية التيار الفلسفي المحاكم ومن ثم للتجربة الفلسفية المعاصرة في كليتها وأجمعيتها، في صياغتها الكبرى والقصد لتطويرها بتخطيطٍ وتبرمجٍ أي تبعض للتكييفانية الإسهامية داخل الذات العربية.
والفلسفة العربية المعاصرة، أو المدرسة المعاصرة في الفلسفة، موضوع البحث، تبتدئ مع الطهطاوي في القرن التاسع عشر، بعد ذلك تلي مرحلة يسميها الباحث بالتجربة الجهادية أو مرحلة ما بعد التحديث العربي، ما دام قد أطلق اسم التحديث (التمدين، اليقظة، النهضة) على مرحلة الاجتهاد الحضاري.
لكن الباحث لم يقدم في هذا العمل، محاورة للفكر الفلسفي كل منذ الطهطاوي وحتى الستينات. تختل بذلك مقولة أن هذا العمل يدرس الفلسفة العربية، ولكنه ترك ذلك إلى كتاب خاص، لا سيما وأن محتواه في أغلبيته ذو موضوعات مرتدة إلى الفلسفة العربية الإسلامية معادة التأويل أو القراءة و الصياغة على يد الأفغاني، عبده مصطفى عبد الرزاق، إبراهيم مدكور، علي سامي النشار… يصح من ثم العنوان "قطاع الفلسفة الراهن في الذات العربية، تيارات المدرسة العربية في الفلسفة أبان القرن العشرين، والذي مؤداه أن التجربة الراهنة، أو القطاع الفلسفي الراهن، غاية الدراسة ومضمونها.
