ترتبط مسألة وجود الله بمسألة أخرى، وهي البحث في قدم العالم وحدوثه، وقد ذهب ابن سينا فيه إلى القول بقدم العالم، وقدم برهانه على ذلك، وإذا كان الغزالي قد نقد الفلاسفة وعلى رأسهم ابن سينا في هذه المسألة، وقال بأن قولهم بقدم العالم يعد متناقضاً مع تدليلهم على وجود الله، فإن هذا الرأي من جانب الغزالي يحتاج إلى مناقشة.
وإذا كانت الإلهيات قد نالت اهتمام ابن سينا فإنه قد اهتم أيضاً بالفلسفة الطبيعية اهتماماً كبيراً، يتضح ذلك من خلال دراسته لعلل الموجودات وكيف أنه ذهب إلى القول بعلل أربعة هي: علة مادية، على صورية، وعلة فاعلى، وأخرى غائية.
وقد ركز ابن سينا على العلة الرابعة، وهي العلة الغائية التي يعدها أهم العلل على الإطلاق، وقد ظهرت الغائية عنده بصورة واضحة عند نقده للقائلين بالبخت والاتفاق، فمن خلال نقده لهم ظهرت الغائية في كل شيء.
أما عن العالم فنجد ابن سينا قد ميز بين عالم ما تحت فلك القمر وعالم ما فوق فلك القمر وهو في هذا أيضاً تابع لأرسطو. وعندما ندرس النفس عند ابن سينا يتبين لنا دورها الهام في الفلسفة السينوية على وجه العموم، فهي تدخل في المجال الفيزيقي كذلك في المجال الميتافيزيقي، ففي المجال الفيزيقي نجده يدرس إثبات وجودها كموجود طبيعي بالإضافة إلى أنواعها على اختلافها من نفس نباتية، ونفس حيوانية ثم نفس إنسانية، كذلك الحواس المختلفة، والحس المشترك والتخيل وغير ذلك، أما في المجال الميتافيزيقي فنجده يتناول في دراسته لها حقيقة النفس وجوهريتها وخلودها بعد فناء البدن.
والواقع أن فلسفة ابن سينا الإلهية أو الطبيعية تستحق النظر والدراسة لما فيها من آراء غاية في الثراء والقوة، صحيح أن الكثير من موضوعتها ليست جديدة فقد سبقه إلى مثل هذه الموضوعات الفلاسفة الذين سبقوه، إلا أنه قدم لنا العديد من الآراء من جانبه ولم يكن مجرد مقلد للسابقين.
