لمكة المكرمة رحلةٌ لا تعرفها إلاَّ القلوب الظامئة التي لذَّعها الحنينُ والشوق، ومضَّها الفراق والتَّوق، فصارت دقّاتُها تبكُّ بكاً، وتلبّي تلبيةً.
هذا الحب الأبدي الدائم للبقعة التي اصطفاها الله عزّ وجلّ مكاناً لأول بيت وضع لعبادته، وقبلةً لجميع وعباده المسلمين، لأعظم القرى شأناً، وأعلاها كعباً، لمثابة الناس، للبلد الأمين الذي أقسم الله عزّ وجلّ به، وهذه المرحلة المباركة التي انطلقت بلا توقف لمكة القداسة والعظمة والشرف منذ أن علا نداء سيدنا إبراهيم عليه السلام في قوله تعالى: (ربنا إني أسكنت من ذريتي بوادٍ غير ذي زرع عند بيتك المحرم ربنا ليُقيموا الصلاة فاجعل أفئدة من الناس تهوى إليهم وارزقهم من الثمرات لعلهم يشكرون) [سورة إبراهيم: 37] سيستمر دفقهما إلى أن يرث الله تعالى الأرض ومن عليها.
ورحلة هذا الكتاب إلى أقدس بقعة رحلة استغرقت الشعر العربي منذ أوَّل نفثة من نفثاته على لسان عاشقها مضّاض الجرهمي الذي انتثر أريجها ليقع في كلِّ فؤاد؛ كأن لم يكن بين الحجون إلى الصِّفا... أنيسٌ ولمْ يسمرْ بمكةَ سامرُ إلى يوم تأليف هذا الكتاب، الذي يدعوكَ.
أخي القارئ، لتعبَّ من زمزمه الفياض، وليأخذ بيدك إلى جبل قبيس الشعر لتطل على مكة الحبيبة، وتراها في كلِّ حالاتها وتحولاتها، وينقلك إلى كل بيوتاتها وحاراتها ومعالمها، ويسمعك كلَّ عبارات الحبِّ التي فاهت بها القلوب قبل الألسنة، ويُجلِّي لك ما يتعلق بهذا البلد الشريف من مشهور أسمائه، ومكانته، والتأليف فيه، ويعبر بك في محطات عصور الشعر وأغراضه الحميمية الصلة بمكة، ولترى أحداثها وما مرَّ بها، ثمَّ لتجد على جبل قبيس يدل المعلقات ما عُلَّق من صورٍ وسمات وخصائص لهذا الشعر، ثمَّ يوصلك في المحطة الأخيرة لمقابلة عشاقها من الشعراء.
ثم لتلقي الرحلة عصاها، ويستقر بها النوَّى في ظل الحجون، ولنقول معي؛ أمنتُ حوادث الأيّامِ لمّا... ربطت ركائبي بِعُرى الحَجونِ.
