تحاول المختارات التي يضمها هذا الكتاب وأعدها وأشرف عليها بيت الشعر الفلسطيني أن تقدم زاوية مختلفة وجديدة للمشهد الشعري في فلسطين، زاوية كانت موجودة دائماً عبر العقود الخمسة التي أعقبت النكبة مبنية على جهد أجيال متعاقبة من الشعراء. ومن أبرز شعراء هذه المجموعة الشعرية التي بين يدينا نذكر: أنس العيلة، أحمد الحاج أحمد، محمد الديراوي، غادة شافعي، وليد الشيخ، رجاء غانم، بشير شلش، طارق الكرمي... أما ابرز عناوين هذه المختارات فهي: هبوط أعلى، مجالات الصوت، خطى حلمه، هكذا، أريد التي لا تريد سواء، حكايا الظلال، الظل أنثى...
"بيت الشعر" في فلسطين وسيلة للمثقفين الفلسطينيين لتعميق مشروعهم الإبداعي وتكريس دورهم في تأكيد الحرية وبنائها ورغبتهم في الإضاءة على جهد الشعر الفلسطيني في إغناء الحياة وحراسة الحلم.
إن تأسيس "بيت الشعر" في فلسطين لا يعني على الإطلاق اقتراحاً للنص أو الكتابة، ولا يجدد تجاهاً بعينه، بقدر ما يؤسس لفضاء الاختلاف والجدل والاقتراح والتجريب والبحث عما هو أعمق في تجارنا، وهو محاولة من شعراء ومبدعي فلسطين لتجاوز حاجز الجغرافيا والسياسة الذي فرض تقسيماته على واقعهم، نحو وحدة المشروع الثقافي الفلسطيني، الوحدة المبنية على الجدل والحوار والتواصل وتثبيت جسورهم مه عمقهم العربي.
إننا شعراء ومبدعي فلسطين نرى أن ارتباكاً مؤلماً قد أضيف إلى صورة المثقف الفلسطيني، سواء عبر قصد الآخرين أو جهلهم، بكل ما حمله هذا الارتباك من تشويه لصورة ودور المبدع الفلسطيني في وطنه، وكل ما أدى إليه من محاولة لإكمال طوق العزل الثقافي الذي تمارسه سلطات الاحتلال الإسرائيلي على شعبنا وثقافتنا.
