"الطريق تسابق المساء، ولا تصل قبله. تصعد أنت من النفق فتجد المدينة عائمة بالطرق، وبها تتواثب تحت المصابيح، ولا يفتنك غناؤها غناء الدلافين الضائعة، ألزم الجدار لئلا تفقد نفسك وسط اللمعان والزفير، لا يفتنك غناؤها، قد يكون أيضاً حريف الخنادق، الطلسم هنا، في حديقة النيون الصغيرة، فلا تنظر..".
عدت بهذا الشعر... المهدود على المخده... كان حديقة الشتاء... وجن في الغرف الأربع... لقد جررت كل هذا الحطب خلفك... ولن تستطيعي تحريكه... بإصبع قصير...
