الحقيقة إن البحث الفسلفي في المعرفة الإنسانية لم ينل حظه من الاهتمام الكافي من قبل البحاثين والدارسين في مجال الفكر الفلسفي، حقيقة، لقد ظهرت عدة كتب تبحث في نظرية المعرفة لباحثين ودارسين متخصصين في الفلسفة، إلا أنني أردت بهذا الكتاب أن أشير إلى بعض الأمور التي لم تشر إليها تلك الدراسات السابقة، لست في حاجة إلى القول بأن موضوع المعرفة الإنسانية يمكن تناوله من زوايا مختلفة إلا أننا سنقتصر هنا على دراسته من الناحية الفلسفية.
وبحث أهم الموضوعات التي يتضمنها الموضوع، لقد جاء الفصل الأول بمثابة المدخل إلى نظرية المعرفة، حيث تحدثنا فيه عن معنى المعرفة، وعن التفرقة بين نظرية المعرفة والإبستمولوجيا، وعن نشأة البحث في نظرية المعرفة وتطوره، وعن علاقة نظرية المعرفة بكل من المنطق وعلم النفس، ثم جاء الفصل الثاني ليتناول موضوع إمكان المعرفة، حيث كان البحث فيه عن المعرفة بين مذهبي الشك واليقين، أما الفصل الثالث فإنه قد يتضمن الحديث عن الشك المنهجي، بينما جاء الفصل الرابع ليبحث في منابع المعرفة، حيث تحدثنا فيه عن كل من المذهب العقلي والمذهب التجريبي، والجمع بين العقل والحواس، والجمع بين الحدس والعقل، والمذهب الحدسي وما يقرب منه من أمور، في حين جاء الفصل الخامس ليتضمن الحديث عن أساليب تحصيل المعرفة، ثم جاء الفصل السادس ليتضمن الحديث عن طبيعة المعرفة، ثم جاء الفصل السابع ليجيب عن التساؤل حول كيفية تكوين التصورات الذهنية، وأخيرًا فقد عقدنا الفصل الثامن للحديث عن غاية المعرفة حيث حاولنا الإجابة فيه عن التساؤل عن ماهية الحقيقة، وعن الفرق بين الحقيقة والواقع، وعن أنواع الحقيقة، وعن الحقيقة من حيث هي قيمة، وعن الحقيقة بين النسبية والإطلاق.
