منذ صدور المناهج الجديدة عام 1997، عانى المعلم والتلميذ من تبعات عديدة فرضتها المنهجية، أولها الثورة الجديدة في عملية التعليم، والمعايير والأساليب الحديثة التي فرضتها تلك العملية فأوجبت على "الأستاذ" الخضوع لدورات عملية تدريبية على مادة عملها سابقاً، أو على مواد لم يعلمها أبداً، مثل المادة الرئيسية الجديدة "علم الاجتماع" إذ أتت أصلاً بعيدة كل البعد عن التلقين والتحفيظ.
لكن الأهم كان "التلميذ" الذي واجه كتاباً جديداً يفرض نفسه عليه، وجب فهمه دون حفظه، فكانت الإشكالية قاسية عليه كمادة جديدة بعد أن تعود منذ الصغر التلقين والحفظ في تلقي المعرفة.
