هذا الكتاب يناقش عدة أمراض نفسية أكثر انتشارًا في مجتمعاتنا العربية، منها الاضطرابات المزاجية مثل الاكتئاب والهوس والاضطراب الوجداني، واضطرابات مثل المخاوف والقلق والإرهاب الاجتماعي والوسواس القهري. و حاولت ألا أغفل مشكلة كبيرة تواجه مجتمعاتنا العربية وهي مشكلة الإدمان، وجمعت أكبر عدد من الأسئلة والمفاهيم التي يجب شرحها في هذه الاضطرابات لتفيد القارئ بطريقة عملية. وأثناء تحضير الكتاب– عاصرت مثل غيري من المصريين مراحل ثورة 25 يناير 2011، ولذلك أضفت للكتاب بعض انفعالاتي وتعليقاتي على الأحداث، والتي يمكن تفسيرها أنها مظاهرات نفسية لتوثيق انفعالات وأفكار مع الثورة على الورق.
