إن علم الهندسة الوصفية هو من العلوم التى اعتمد عليها العالم فى ماضيه وحاضره وسيعتمد عليها فى مستقبله. وقد جاءت أهمية هذا العلم لما يقدمه للعالم من مساعدات تكون بمثابة حجر الزاوية فى الصناعة وتطورها. وتأتى الأهمية لهذا العلم فى أنه هو المحرك الاساسى والخطوة الأولى فى عمليات التصنيع وخاصة الهياكل العامة لجميع المنتجات التى يتم إنتاجها فى الأسواق والتى تختلف أشكالها من منتج لأخر. فإنتاج رفرف سيارة أو سقف أو أبواب أو هيكل طائرة من الصاج أو من المعادن الأخرى الموجودة فى صورة ألواح أو منتجات بلاستيكية ذات هياكل دائرية أو حلزونية أو أى أشكال هندسية يستلزم معرفة أصل هذا الشكل الحقيقى على الأوراق حتى يتم تقطيعه على ألواح المعادن والتى بدورها يتم عمل اسطمبات للأشكال المطلوب إنتاجها ومن ثم تشكيل الألواح المعدنية على الشكل المطلوب، ويتم وضع فى إفراد الإشكال النسب الموجودة للتشغيل والتشكيل والتى يتم عمل حساباتها أثناء إفراد الشكل. وأيضا فى التقاطعات بين الأشكال الهندسية فى المنتجات يتم تحديد شكل التقاطع وإفراده وعمل العمليات المطلوبة له حتى يتثنى أخذها فى الاعتبار. ولذا ظهرت الأهمية القصوى لهذا العلم كأساس للصناعة. وكذلك ظهرت التطبيقات فى الهندسة المدنية فى رسم الخرائط وتحديد الخطوط والحفر والردم ورسم الخرائط الجوية وبعض الهياكل المدنية فى التشكيلات الخرسانية للأشكال الخاصة. ومن عمل بهذا العلم فى التخصصات الأخرى لم يعطه حقه فى الوصف والتحليل وإيضاح الفائدة منه. لذا عكفنا على إعداد هذا الكتاب كجزء أول بالاسلوب الذى يتفاعل مع ذهن الطالب مباشرة دون إرهاقه فى سرد النظريات العلمية دون فهم مرجعيتها وكذلك وضعنا فيه الأسرار التى بين السطور واجتهدنا لنعلم الطالب الاسم الذى أطلقناه على هذا العلم وهو "علم الكلام وتفسير الأحلام" والذى أطلقناه ليعلم الطالب أن هذا العلم الأساس فيه وصف الكلام وليس الأرقام التى تلفت انتباهه ويترك التركيز فى وصف الموضوع. والجزء الثانى يتطرق لمعظم التطبيقات العملية والصناعية التى تعتمد على هذا العلم.
