تنقسم محتويات الكتاب إلى عشرة فصول، تعتبر الفصول الأولى جزءاً تمهيدياً تتعرض للجوانب المختلفة والمرتبطة بالتحليل الطيفي، أما الفصول السبعة الأخرى فتغطي المجالات المختلفة من طرق التحليل الطيفي الشائعة الاستخدام، ويبدأ كل فصل بمقدمة تمهيدية، ثم شرح للنظرية العامة للتحليل ثم يعقب ذلك شرح لتركيب وتصميم الأجهزة المستخدمة وطريقة تشغيلها ثم شرح للتطبيقات العامة والخاصة للأنظمة الكيميائية مع ذكر بعض الأمثلة، ثم ينتهي الفصل ببعض التمارين التطبيقية.
