إن الدراسات العلمية والميدانية باتت من الدراسات الهامة في علم النفس الجنائي في ضوء زيادة انتشار الجريمة وتعدد أنماطها حيث تقع جرائم بشعة تبلغ من الفظاعة والقسوة جداً بعيداً عن الآدمية كأن يقتل الولد أمه أو والده وكذلك جرائم الاغتصاب وهتك الأعراض والجرائم التي يرتكبها القاتلون المختلون والتي تنك جرائمهم عن اختلال قواهم العقلية والعاطفية والنفسية. والملاحظ أن جميع الجرائم تقريباً يكمن فيها عوامل نفسية متعددة من الثأر إلى الانتقام والعدوان والطمع والجشع وهناك أنماط من الجرائم يغلب عليها العامل النفسي مثل الجماع الجنسي مع جثث المتوفيات وجرائم السادية وحب تعذيب الضحايا والتلذذ بإيقاع الألم بالضحية وكذلك تبدو العوامل النفسية في جرائم السرقة القهرية حيث يجد الفرد نفسه مساقاً لسرقة أشياء تافهة. من العوامل النفسية الاعتداء على الأطفال وكذلك جرائم زنا الأقارب.
من هنا تبدو أهمية اهتمام علم النفس الجنائي بدراسة سيكولوجية الجريمة وسيكولوجية الحدث الصغير الجانح والسلوك الانحرافى ومحاولة إعادة تأهيل المجرم والاهتمام بدراسة ما يدور داخل المحكمة. كتاب تأمل منشورات الحلبي الحقوقية بأن يساهم بحماية هذه الأمة من أخطار الجريمة وأضرارها ونسأل الله الأمن والأمان.
