إيماناً من الدكتور "عصام عبد الله" بضرورة إغناء المكتبة العربية بالكتب العلمية وتوفيرها لطلبة الجامعات والمعاهد العليا، وانطلاقاً من الصعوبات التي تواجه الطلبة عموماً عند دراسة الكيمياء الفيزياوية، قام بإعداد هذه الموسوعة والتي تتألف من ثلاث أجزاء، الجزء الأول "الكيمياء الفيزياوية" احتوى على أسس النظرية الرئيسية لهذا العلم ومتوسعاً في إعطاء أمثلة محلولة لترسيخ المبادئ النظرية الموجودة مع بعض النطبيقات الصناعية للمواضيع المختلفة وكلما أمكن ذلك لكي يتم ربط المادة النظرية بالتطبيق الصناعي. كما تحاشى المؤلف وعن قصد التعمق في بعض المتطلقات النظرية والحسابات الرياضية لكي يكون هذا الكتاب مفيد لطلبة أقسام الكيمياء في كليات العلوم والتربية وكذلك لطلبة الهندسة الكيمياوية في كليات الهندسة وكذلك لطلبة المعاهد التقنية.
أما الجزء الثاني "تجارب في الكيمياء الفيزياوية فتضمن عدد من التجارب المخبرية والتي تعطي مواضيع السوائل والمحاليل غير الإلكتروليتية والمحاليل الإلكتروليتية والتوازن الكيمياوي وحركيات التفاعل الكيمياوي والكيمياء الحرارية وكيمياء السطوح. والتي تعتبر مفيدة لطلبة أقسام الكيمياء والهندسة الكيمياوية وكذلك تخصصات الصناعات الكيمياوية والصناعات البتروكيمياوية.
وإيماناً من المؤلف بضرورة رفد المكتبة العلمية العربية بجهد علمي يربط المفاهيم النظرية والتطبيقات العملية والصناعية لعلم الكيمياء الفيزياوية تم إعداد الجزء الثالث "مسائل محلولة مختارة في الكيمياء الفيزياوية" والذي يمكن الاستفادة منه لطلبة كليات العلوم/أقسام الكيمياء والفيزياء وكليات الهندسة أقسام الهندسة الكيمياوية وهندسة النفط والصناعات الكيمياوية والبتروكمياوية، وكذلك التدريسيين والباحثين حيث قام بانتقاء عدد من الأمثلة المحلولة لكل فصل من فصول الكتاب من عدد من الكتب المتوفرة في المكتبة ومن التجارب المختبرية المقامة لتسهيل فهم النظريات والقوانين الخاصة بهذا التخصص.
