لقد خصت الجملة بدرسات متعاقبة هامة، تفاوتت في المنهج، وتنوعت في الطرح، وتعددت النظريات، وليست هذه النظريات بالضرورة هالة على أن هذا الطرف مصيب والآخر مخطئ بقدر ما هي تشير إلى توجه يحاول ويجتهد ويسعى ويقترب من كشف الحقائق العلمية وتوضيح القواعد الممكنة التي ترتبط بها، وقد تتكامل جميعها ويتمم بعضها بعضا في ضوء النظرية اللغوية بعامة.
وهكذا فالجملة جديرة بالبحث وبالتحليل وحرية بأن تدرك بنيتها وتعرف أسس تحليلها وتفهم مناهج هذا التحليل.
وقد أردنا في غمرة هذا التوجه أن نقدم هذه الدراسة المرتبطة ببنية الجملة العربية.
ولقد جعلنا هذه الدراسة بعنوان: (بنية الجملة العربية وأسس تحليلها في ضوء المنهج التوليدي التحويلي) ركزنا فيها على بنية الجملة في ضوء المنهج المذكور قاصدين بـ"البنية" التحليل والإعراب فوجهنا العناية إلى تحليل الجملة وإبراز أسس هذا التحليل عند العرب القدامى والمحدثين وبيان أسس ذلك في ضوء المنهج التوليدي التحويلي متبعين المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، معتمدين على الاستقراء النظري المشفوع بما يساعد على التبسيط والتوضيح وتقريب الفهم من الشواهد والأمثلة والرسوم المناسبة. وقد قسمنا الدراسة إلى فصلين تسبقهما مقدمة وتوطئة وتتلوهما خاتمة. تتضمن التوطئة بسط العناصر التالية: في تأليف الكلام، التعليق جوهر النظم، في الإعراب، في معنى العامل، أما الفصلين فهما الأسس العامة لتحليل الجملة عند العرب، وبنية الجملة العربية في ضوء المنهج التوليدي التحويلي.
