ويركز الكتاب فى تناوله لجميع الأساليب الإحصائية على الأسس المنطقية، والتفسيرات التى يمكن أن تستمد من نتائجها، ويقدم الكتاب فى مستهل الأبواب والفصول أشكالا تخطيطية تساعد الباحث فى اختيار الأساليب الإحصائية التى تناسب شكل وطبيعة البيانات المراد تحليلها، وكذلك مجموعة من الجداول الإحصائية المتعلقة بهذه الأساليب، كما يقدم فى نهاية كل فصل العديد من البيانات والتمارين التدريبية، وينتهى الكتاب بمعجم مختصر للمصطلحات الأساسية فى الإحصاء وتحليل البيانات.
