وترى المؤلفة أن ابن خلدون قد أعطانا بعض المفاهيم العبقرية التي سبق بها عصره، بحيث جعلته مبشراً لكثير من مفكري العصر الحديث، فقد طبق مبدأ العلية على الدراسات الاجتماعية قبل مونتسكيو بأربعة قرون، وأبرز -قبل بودان- تأثير البيئة الطبيعية والمناخ على عادات وتقاليد الشعوب وعلى تقدمها الاقتصادي والفكري، وتوصل قبل تارد الفرنسي إلى القول بقانون التقليد، كما أنه قارب نظرية القيمة قبل ماركس بخمسة قرون.
