يعد كتاب "ياسمين على الغياب: رسائل من زنزانة إنفرادية" لمؤلفه سعيد سلطان الهاشمي أول كتاب أدبي عُماني عن أدب السجون في تاريخ الأدب العُماني. ولكن، بعيداً عن الأسباب في بروز جنس أدبي أو انزوائه يبقى لسعيد الهاشمي حضوره وتجربته في هذا العمل انطلاقاً من كونه مواطن عُماني يؤمن بحق الإنسان في أن يعيش بكرامة وعزة في وطنه بعيداً عن دنس الجلاد وسوطه وكما تقول سماء عيسى وعبد الله حبيب في معرض تقديمهما لهذا العمل: "لا ندري، لكن سعيد الهاشمي فعل ذلك بقدرة الضعف على مواجهة الإحتمالات، وبطاقة الإغماءة على مداعبة الريح. لم يكن أمامه أحد (سوى السجّان بالطبع)، ولم يكن وراءه أحد (سوى السجّان بالطبع) ... المحب في العادة يكتب قصائده أو رسائله من قلبه أما سعيد الهاشمي فإنه لا يكتب من قلبه. كلا إنه يكتب من أحشائه مباشرة، ويا لما في أحشاء المُضرب عن الطعام من قلوب ..."
في الكتاب رسائل يبثها سجين من زنزانته الإنفرادية إلى الكل: الأهل والأصدقاء والوطن، حين قراءتها نعلم جيداً كيف تتحول الزنزانة الإنفرادية الضيقة إلى فضاء للروح، تعبر بها إلى فضاءات أوسع في انتظار يوم ينتفي فيه الظلم وتسود الحرية.
