والكتاب الذي نقدمه يعد محاولة جديدة لسبر غور هذا العلم وما جرت فيه من تطورات عبر قرون عدة، جعلته أكثر العلوم الإنسانية تطوراً وانتشاراً سواء من ناحية أساليبه العلمية أو من ناحية عدد دارسيه وتطبيقاته.
وقد تعرض الكتاب بشكل مختصر لأهم مدارس الفكر الاقتصادي، وركز على الاقتصاد الإسلامي ومقوماته واهم تطوراته ممثلةً ببروز وانتشار الصيرفة الإسلامية.
وفي الجانب الآخر ركزنا على نشوء وتطور الرأسمالية وأشكالها وأهم مدارسها الحديثة التي أسست لعلم الاقتصاد، وتناول الأزمات في تطبيقات الرأسمالية، مع التركيز على الأزمة الاقتصادية العالمية التي يشهدها عالمنا اليوم أي أزمة2008 وما بعدها.
