في هذا الكتاب نناقش سويًا العديد من الموضوعات المتعلقة بتحليل وتصميم طبقات الرصف بالطرق الأسفلتية والذي يعرف بالرصف المرن. ولقد ناقشنا في هذا الكتاب النظريات المرتبطة بتحليل وتصميم الرصف المرن كما أفردنا فصلًا لتحليل الإجهادات والانفعالات المتولدة في طبقات الرصف المرن بسبب تأثير الأحمال المحورية المفردة والمتعددة كذلك خصصنا فصلًا لمناقشة الأساليب المختلفة لتصميم الرصف المرن من بينها طريقة الـAASHTO مع الأخذ في الاعتبار الكود المصري لتصميم وتنفيذ الطرق بجمهورية مصر العربية. وحيث أن المخلوط الأسفلتي الساخن هو المادة المستخدمة للرصف لذلك فقد ناقشنا سويًا نظرية اللزوجة- المرونة. كذلك رأينا من المناسب أن نضيف للكتاب ملحقًا يشتمل على بعض الجداول الإحصائية الهامة وملحقًا آخر للبيانات المرورية المهمة لتحليل وتصميم الرصف المرن. وأخيرًا ونظرًا للاعتماد الذي أصبح ضروريًا على استخدام الحاسب الآلي في الكثير من العلوم التطبيقية فقد راعينا أن ندعم الكتاب ببرنامج كمبيوتر يتم من خلاله تحديد الإجهادات والانفعالات بطبقات الرصف المختلفة كما يمكن استخدامه أيضًا لتحديد سمك الطبقات بدقة كبيرة.
