الإنسان تواق طبيعته إلى معرفة أسرار الكون من حوله. فهو دائم التساؤل والبحث يطوف في عالم الروح بعد أن تمكن ولو إلى حد ما من سبر غور المادة. والخالق العظيم أودع في هذا الكون الذي يحيط بنا الكثير من أسراره لا يعلمها إلا من آتاه الله حكمة وعلمه من علمه. وعلم الفلك هو أحد العلوم التي اهتم بها العرب القدماء والمسلمون وعدوها من العلوم التي ينبغي معرفتها. وقد توصلوا بعلمهم إلى أن الأجرام السماوية وما يعرض لها من أوضاع إنما هي علامات على حوادث هذا العالم مما يوجده الله سبحانه وتعالى بقدرته وإرادته.
وفي هذا الكتاب يعرض المؤلف لكل برج من الأبراج ولكل العناصر التي تتألف منها، كما يعرض لطريقة معرفة كل إنسان لبرجه من خلال حساب اسمه واسم أمه، ثم يشرع في تفصيل حياة كل برج. وبما أن للحروف أيضاً طبع يؤثر على أسماء الناس ولها أربعة عناصر ومجموعة الحروف ثمانية وعشرين ومجموع الطبائع أربعة فيخص كل طبيعة سبعة حروف والنسبة لا تتغير بين كل طبعية وأخرى.
كما يفرد فصلاً لعالم الجن وكيفية التحصن والتعوذ منهم، ولكيفية إبطال السحر، ويعرض رياضات عديدة وظروف واستعدادات غير مألوفة وطرق سحرية غامضة للتأثير على الأشخاص يلجأ إليها الجن.
وفي الكتاب تعاويذ للقرينة وأدعية وأحراز ثم يعرض كذلك خواص وفوائد أسماء الله الحسنة ويتحدث عن خواص الأحجار الكريمة وأنواع الاستخارات.
