شهید مصطفوی در عملیات مستشاری در سال 94 در سوریه به دست تروریست های تکفیری به شهادت رسیده و پیکر پاکش در شهرستان بهار از توابع استان همدان به خاک سپرده شده است. گفته می شود داعش بعد از شهادت شهید مصطفوی، پیکر او را با خود می برد، اما بعد از مدتی خود شهید آدرس دقیق پیکر را در خواب به یکی از دوستانش می دهد.
