درست فقط این است؛ این آغاز و پایان یک استدلال خوب برای ساختارگریان حقوقی است که فقط یک پاسخ جامع را بهترین میدانند.
اما در نظر صورتگرایان حقوقی «درست این است»؛ این از آن روست که فورمالیستها به یاری روحالقوانین گاه در یک مورد خاص از انحصارِ کلیتها بیرون میآیند.
نزد خطابیان حقوقی همچون دورکین، «درست فقط آن است»؛ برای آنان پاسخ آنقدرها هم که ساختارگرایان و فورمالیستها می درست فقط این است؛ این آغاز و پایان یک استدلال خوب برای ساختارگریان حقوقی است که فقط یک پاسخ جامع را بهترین میدانند.

گروهی دیگر از خطابیان همچون پرلمان برآنند که: «درست آن است»؛ اینان نیز گرچه به آن سوی ظاهر عبور میکنند، اما لزوماً فقط یک تأویل را از میان تفاسیر درست نمیشمرند.
جدلیان حقوقی میگویند: «درست یا این است یا آن»؛ بیش از دو پاسخ وجود ندارد و اگر این درست باشد آن درست نیست، و اگر آن درست باشد دیگر این را نباید درست پنداشت.
پلورالیستها و دیالکتیسینهای حقوقی ظاهراً با تحملی بیشتر معتقدند که «درست هم این است و هم آن» و، بدینسان بر خلاف جدلیان، بین دو پاسخ متعارض جمع میکنند.
پروژۀ حیرانی حقوقی اما نه جمع که حذف است، و در آن «درست نه این است و نه آن».
