عبدالمنعم سعيد في مركز الأهرام للدراسات السياسية والإستراتيجية منذ عام 1975 كباحث مساعد ثم باحث ثم رئيسا لقسم العلاقات الدولية D.C.
د.
عبدالمنعم سعيد باحث زميل لمنظمة بروكنجز بالولايات المتحدة الأمريكية – واشنطن 1987.
عمل أيضا كمستشار سياسى للديوان الأميرى القطرى (1990 - 1993)ـ وللدكتور مؤلفات كثيرة معنية بالنظام العالمى الجديد، والشئون العربية، والشراكة الأوروبية والصراع العربى الإسرائيلى.
وله مقالات حول القضايا الأمنية في الشرق الأوسط، والسياسة المصرية والحد من التسلح.
هذا بالإضافة إلى مؤلفات عديدة نشرت في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، آسيا وأوروبا

كرست العقدين الأخيرين من حياتي العملية والمهنية من أجل أن تصبح مصر دولة طبيعية مرة أخرى, بمعنى أن تعود إلى ما عادت إليه الغالبية العظمى من دول العالم, حيث استقرت مجموعة من المبادئ الأساسية في علاقة الدين والدولة, والدولة والمجتمع, والدولة وأقاليمها, والدولة والعالم. وبالطبع لا توجد روشتة جاهزة لكل مشكلة, ولكن هناك دائمًا خطوطًا عامة باتت مستقرة في إدارة حياة الناس ضاع الكثير منها وسط مخترعات مصرية لا يوجد مثلها في العالم. ومن المدهش أن قادة الرأي في مصر يعرفون كل ذلك, وهم لا يتورعون من حيث المبدأ عن المطالبة بأكثر الأشكال والقوانين والقواعد مثالية, فيبدو حلم الغني المصري ممتدًّا حتى يصل إلى المثال السويسري, أما حلم الديمقراطية فيمس الأعتاب الإنجليزية.
