الكتاب استقراء تاريخي وعرض علمي لسلسلة الأحداث التي تتالت في الجمهورية العربية اليمن يومها، بموضوعية متناهية وحيادية تامة، وقد لخص قضايا الصراع خلال تلك المرحلة بصورة لم يأت بها أحد. وقد اختزل الكتاب ثورة 26 سبتمبر وتداعياتها من الحرب الأهلية التي استمرت إلى العام 70م حتى المصالحة، والقوى التي تخلقت خلال هذه المرحلة، ثم انقلاب 5 نوفمبر، وحركة 13 يونيو التصحيحية، وبداية الط الكتاب استقراء تاريخي وعرض علمي لسلسلة الأحداث التي تتالت في الجمهورية العربية اليمن يومها، بموضوعية متناهية وحيادية تامة، وقد لخص قضايا الصراع خلال تلك المرحلة بصورة لم يأت بها أحد. وقد اختزل الكتاب ثورة 26 سبتمبر وتداعياتها من الحرب الأهلية التي استمرت إلى العام 70م حتى المصالحة، والقوى التي تخلقت خلال هذه المرحلة، ثم انقلاب 5 نوفمبر، وحركة 13 يونيو التصحيحية، وبداية الطريق لتأسيس الدولة اليمنية على يد الرئيس الشهيد إبراهيم الحمدي الذي تم اغتياله في ظروف غامضة ولا تزال.
