هذه المذكرات في أول دراسة عن الحرب العراقية-الإيرانية يكتبها عسكري عراقي خاض تلك الحرب منذ أول يوم لاندلاعها في 22/9/1988 حتى نهايتها في 8/8/1988. وكان الكاتب شاهدًا على جميع معاركها التي خاضها مباشرة حين كان قائدًا لفرقة المشاة السابعة. أو التي خطط لها وتابع تنفيذها منذ أو تولى رئاسة أركان الجيش في سنة 1987. ويروي هذا الكتاب سيرة المؤلف وانضمامه إلى الجيش وقتاله في جبهة ا هذه المذكرات في أول دراسة عن الحرب العراقية-الإيرانية يكتبها عسكري عراقي خاض تلك الحرب منذ أول يوم لاندلاعها في 22/9/1988 حتى نهايتها في 8/8/1988. وكان الكاتب شاهدًا على جميع معاركها التي خاضها مباشرة حين كان قائدًا لفرقة المشاة السابعة. أو التي خطط لها وتابع تنفيذها منذ أو تولى رئاسة أركان الجيش في سنة 1987. ويروي هذا الكتاب سيرة المؤلف وانضمامه إلى الجيش وقتاله في جبهة الجولان في حرب تشرين الأول /أوكتوبر 1973، ثم يعرض للمعارك المشهورة في الحرب العراقية-الإيرانية. مثل سقوط المحمرة وتحرير الفاو وجزر مجنون والزبيدات والشلامجة وغيرها.
تنبع أهمية هذه الرواية من كونها تمثل أول رواية من نوعها تتسم بخصائص ما يمكن تسميته برواية عراقية للحرب. وهذه الرواية تحمل لأول مرة معطيات ومعلومات جديدة من مصدر
