For the first time in Arab history, this precious 19 century's letter finds its way to be published in Arabic. A Letter addressed to James Scarlett on the abolition of the slave trade by Tripolitanian Hassuna D’Ghies (1792-1836), who is one of the forgotten African intellectuals. This letter was published in English on 22 May1822 in London and received an overwhelming response from the intellectuals all over UK. The letter stood firmly against European imperialism in Africa and challenged the new world order. All in all, the letter demonstrates a very effective remedy to the crisis of black nation in Africa that still applies till now
