يحتوي هذا الكتاب على رسالتين في علم أصول النحو للعلَّامة الشهير أحمد بابا التنبكتي؛ الرسالة الأُولى «إمتاع الأسماع بما قِيل في إجراء ألفاظ رُواة الحديث مجرى السماع»، وقد أفرَدها أحمد بابا لِعرض الخلاف الحاصل حول مسألة الاستشهاد بالحديث النبوي على قواعد العربية وذِكرِ أقوال النحاة فيها ومناقشتها.
وأمَّا الرسالة الثانية «وسيلتي وشافعي في ثبوت الاستدلال بألفاظ الإمام الشافعي» يحتوي هذا الكتاب على رسالتين في علم أصول النحو للعلَّامة الشهير أحمد بابا التنبكتي؛ الرسالة الأُولى «إمتاع الأسماع بما قِيل في إجراء ألفاظ رُواة الحديث مجرى السماع»، وقد أفرَدها أحمد بابا لِعرض الخلاف الحاصل حول مسألة الاستشهاد بالحديث النبوي على قواعد العربية وذِكرِ أقوال النحاة فيها ومناقشتها.
وأمَّا الرسالة الثانية «وسيلتي وشافعي في ثبوت الاستدلال بألفاظ الإمام الشافعي»، فقد أفرَدها لِمسألة الاحتجاج بألفاظ الإمام الشافعي على قواعد العربية وما أُورِد على القول بحُجِّية ألفاظه من إيرادات وإشكالات مع الإجابة عنها.
وقد وضَع مُحقِّق الرسالتين ذيلًا على الرسالة الثانية؛ لبيان ما أغفَله أحمد بابا فيها وأجمَله، مع إضافات وفوائد وتحريرات، وسمَّاه «الحصيلة في بيان ما أغفَله التنبكتي في الوسيلة».
