ينبغى على فرودو أن يترك ديارة ويخرج فى رحلة خطيرة عبر الأرض الوسطى إلى شقوق الهلاك وهناك يقوم بتدمير الخاتم ويهزم سيد الظلام ويحبط خططه وأغراضة الشريرة
