مفهوم موت المؤلف La Mort De L'auteur الذي صاغه رولان بارتRoland Barthes (1915-1980) وطوَّره من بعده العديد من فلاسفة الجمال والنقاد الأدبيين، لم يكن بمعزل عن الإطار الثقافي الذي صاغ فيه بارت هذا المفهوم. فالواقع أنَّ إعلان موت المؤلف لا يُفهم إلا في سياق أعمّ من شيوع فكرة النهايات وسيادتها في القرن العشرين، وكذلك مقولة موت الإله لنيتشه ونقد مفهوم المركزيَّة ومنطق الهويَّة. مفهوم موت المؤلف La Mort De L'auteur الذي صاغه رولان بارتRoland Barthes (1915-1980) وطوَّره من بعده العديد من فلاسفة الجمال والنقاد الأدبيين، لم يكن بمعزل عن الإطار الثقافي الذي صاغ فيه بارت هذا المفهوم. فالواقع أنَّ إعلان موت المؤلف لا يُفهم إلا في سياق أعمّ من شيوع فكرة النهايات وسيادتها في القرن العشرين، وكذلك مقولة موت الإله لنيتشه ونقد مفهوم المركزيَّة ومنطق الهويَّة. وهي القضايا التي كانت موضع اهتمام العديد من التيارات الفكريَّة التي ظهرت في النصف الثاني من القرن العشرين.
تسعى هذه الدراسة إلى تحليل هذا المفهوم ووضعه في سياقه، وربطه بمفاهيم أخرى كان لها تأثير كبير على طبيعة الفكر الفلسفي الغربي وخصائصه في النصف الثاني من القرن العشرين، وخاصَّة مفهوم موت الإله لنيتشه. من ناحية أخرى، تسعى الدراسة للتأكيد على الآثار التي تركها هذا المفهوم على الخبرة الجماليَّة بمستوياتها الثلاثة: الإبداع، والتلقي، والنقد. وأخيراً، تحاول الدراسة الإجابة عن سؤال: هل كان ميلاد القارئ يلزمه بالضرورة افتراض موت المؤلف؟ وهل من الممكن الوصول إلى صيغة أكثر تطوُّراً لمقولة موت المؤلف، تجعل من المؤلف ذاتاً حاضرة وغائبة في الوقت ذاته؟
